I’ve suffered an enforced absence from the Internet for the past 6 days and so I have been unable to log into the new Firepow 2.0.
It was a bit frustrating at the time, but in the event it has turned out to be something of a blessing, as it’s enabled me, by going through Firepow’s forums for that period to get a handle on how the program has performed, as well as it’s reception by users-both the members of the original Firepow, and those that have come in since the program upgrade. It’s also allowed me to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of the support team.
As far as the performance of the new program is concerned, my opinion is that it’s functioning well … very well actually. I saw where users had been confronted with 8 difficulties up till about 4:00 AM Monday US EST, and they have, to my knowledge, all been corrected. I noticed that one of the more practiced members was unable to build two blogs in Firepow 2.0 during last weekend, but they didn’t mention the cause, and no other complaints of a similar nature were lodged in the forums. So it seems that their problem may have been a one-off.
The new members were also very positive about Firepow 2.0. Many have identified and commented on the significant time-savings that can be generated with the program. I will close watch on their reaction in the near future… I’ll keep you posted.
Support has been doing a commendable job, especially considering the plethora of enquiries that inevitably accompany the launch of an upgraded program, and Support has had solid back-up from the Admin people and some very selfless and knowledgeable senior members. Actually the majority of the queries seemed to derive from people being unused to the new design, but in my view this will be a transitory problem as Firepow 2.0 is of a significantly better design that was the original version.
